Drum Tracks Done / “The 12″

Happy Holidays to all !

So I’m sitting here thinking it’s time to update the progress of our hard work at the recording studio and a whole lot more that’s in store for 2010. We have completed all the drum tracks at “The Barn” studio right before Christmas. On schedule for what we had planned. I must say Patrick is one phenomenal drummer to witness under the microphones. With a diligence of no compromise he pounds away double bass drum beats that match my picking technique in perfect execution. It really is a fantastic feeling to have found such a wonderful person, as well as such a perfect match for thrashing. I remember seeing Patrick play with Yngwie sitting on a paint bucket and he simply struck me as one sick Swedish boy.

I have to head to New York for the first pre-production of a HUGE Rock Musical I have committed to doing. I’ll be a main character / guitarist. It will eventually travel arena size venues around the globe. The story is written by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Robert Shenkkan and the show is put on by my lifelong friend, and of course Mr. Broadway, Neil Berg. He’s done “Grumpy Old Men” and so many other Productions that are incredible hits. It’s called “The 12″ and the story has Biblical ties told through the band and its music. So far we are at 15 songs, with some of Broadway’s biggest stars aboard. The first show will be sometime in April at an arena in Florida. There will be a few showcases in the interim to fine tune at smaller venues. You are ALL invited to this one at the China Club in N.Y.C. on January 10th. Free admission as far as I am aware. The full time touring will start the following year. I’ll keep you all posted.

Entering the Recording Studio

For all our fans who have been inquisitive regarding when we will be entering the recording studio. . . .

The time has come to let you all know that we are now ready to enter the studio to start tracking. We will start momentarily tracking what I think is just the sickest most wicked Thrash Metal riffs I’ve written to date. If you were a fan of the “Among The Living” era songs I co-wrote you will certainly want to grab hold of what we all have in store with the new band. A movement forward in time with creative new guitar sounds. I’ll certainly have some video footage coming from our sessions to put up on the sites so all can watch the progression.

After the end of my last touring cycle with Anthrax I needed a long brake to take care of our Identical twins Brendan and Jaden who were diagnosed with Autism. I certainly couldn’t leave Candi (my wonderful Wife) to deal with the daily grind of multiple therapists at the house. We are on a better track now with them and at a point where the recording and touring cycles can start. Continue reading Entering the Recording Studio

New Icons are up

Our new Icons Rule!

Both myspace/DeuxMonkey and this site have been completely updated with our new band Icon. I much prefer our new ones. My friend John Petrucci from Dream Theater sent me a wonderful email from Switzerland. He said he was just thinking about me (you know the watch thing). They don’t come much nicer than John.Travel safe and crush ‘em John.

DeuxMonkey Icon

It comes to our attention that our Icon symbol is quite similar to my friend John Petrucci’s band Dream Theater’s Icon. I’ve written John already regarding this of course. In fact John sent over a wonderful 7 string guitar to the studio I used on some of the recording for this project.

We are taking our Icon down and will be replacing it with a new design as soon as we can. It is quite an udertaking as it’s site wide use.

Thanks to all our friends at Blabbermouth for bringing this to the bands attention.

Accept Reunites

Our bassist “Peter Baltes” has reunited with his former band mates and are certainly bent on destroying a few towns near you. I can’t wait to hear some master riffage from Wolf.

If you have time please view their official website Accept

Monkey Soup For All

We are up and running in beta.

I would like to send our best wishes to our fans who have waited patiently. Please enjoy the beginning of such a new wonderful adventure for all of us. The music is intense and hard with pounding fast riffs. It’s a start to a wonderful ride that should last until I’m long gone. Hoping you will all enjoy the labor of love.

Round two is on!
